excuse me while i step onto my soap box

I am a grammar, spelling, and punctuation nut. I'm not always perfect, but I try really hard. Obviously in the world of blogging and twitter there is room for errors, but in letters, important emails, and serious writing I really think people should think about what they're writing. Too is not the same as to. Their, they're, and there are also not the same. I found the below image in pinterest, and it made me laugh. Placement of commas can really change the meaning of a sentence.

It's true, punctuation (and spelling and grammar) can save a person's life. We wouldn't want to be eating grandpa now would we?

Okay, getting off the soapbox now.

Ha! I am a former high school English teacher and have always been a stickler for punctuation, grammar, and spelling; however, I have lightened up since blogging. I make most mistakes just because I rarely proofread.

BTW, just have to point this out . . . re-read your sentence "Their, they're, and there are also NO the same." It made me smile because it is so something I would do. LOL

I'm right there with ya!! There/Their/They're and To/Too/Two are killers for me. And I'm BIG on the commas as well. I'm not perfect, but it's high alert in my brain. Have you read the kids book "Eat Shoots and Leaves"? It's ALLL about the comma and it's SOOO cute (along the same lines as the Grandpa quote :-))

Hahha! I love this! I absolutely hate when I find grammar mistakes, especially in emails from my coworkers. If teachers are making those kind of mistakes, I can't imagine what they are teaching the students! And, I'm a math teacher!

Hahaha! I hope you don't judge me when I comment. ;) I am horrible about comma placements, punctions, capital letters, etc. on blogging. However I triple check everything else (seeing how I am a certified teacher...ha)! I am with you on the there/their/they're thing! It drives me nuts!

I am a grammar/punctuation/spelling nut too! I constantly find myself correctly people, which I know is rude, but I just can't help it!
