new beauty finds {hair + skin}

While I wouldn't consider myself a beauty product connoisseur, when I'm in need of something, I do my research to find a good product.

Two things I've recently {in the last year} come to care even more about is skin care and hair care, so those are two areas where I'm always looking to find good products that do what they say they'll do. I've started using a few new products that I'm liking so far.
As far as face wash is concerned, I was using Clean & Clear for a while, but I was still having breakouts that I didn't think should be happening. I tweeted asking for people's recommendations on face washes, and several wrote back about Neutrogena products. I opted for the Deep Clean Cream Cleanser as well as the Deep Clean Invigorating Foaming Scrub, and I love them both.

Both products smell amazing, and my skin has gotten softer with fewer breakouts. Also, when there are breakouts, they are smaller and go away faster. The foaming scrub has a tingle to it, and I really like using it after I come home from the gym in the shower, because it helps cool me off and makes me feel extra clean. I use the deep clean daily, and it's amazing how much softer my face has become.

The Redken Anti-Snap product I've only been using for a few weeks, so I can't attest to it's success with the same degree of confidence, but I did want to recommend it because of the amazing number of positive reviews it has. I have super thin hair that seems to be breaking off really badly, so I bought this in hopes that it would help my hair grow longer {because...you know...I have a wedding I'd like to have some longer hair for}. While I haven't seen it's success yet, it does help tame my frizz a little bit.

Do you use any of these? What other hair products for thin and breaking hair might you recommend? Does anyone use almond oil? I've heard it's a miracle worker, but I haven't purchased it yet.

I haven't tried almond oil, but I use Moroccan Miracle Oil and it's WONDERFUL! I have fine hair, so like yours, it's very easy to snap off. This usually leaves me with a ton of fly-aways and alfalfa looking.

Can you take your eye makeup off with that face wash?

I use Organix Moroccan oil shampoo and I haven't seen any greatness w/it..though I've only been using it for a week. So I'm no help w/tips.

Have you tried taking biotin supplements? My hair gets really weak (thyroid) from time to time and my stylist recommended I add biotin to my usual one-a-day vitamin. That was about a year ago and my hair is currently longer/thicker than it's ever been in my life.

That Neutrogena scrub is totally invigorating, but it dries out my skin a bit. Need to amp up the nighttime moisturizer!

I am going to have to try these face washes. I currently use the Clinique skin care line, but I think it's making my breakouts worse :(

I use the Redken Anti-Snap and I think it's really helped my breakage problem. I have fine hair that breaks easily in the heat (heat styling, going to the beach, etc.). This seems to have made my hair stronger and look healthier.

I haven't used the anti-snap product but I did use the Redken Extreme product for a while and if you use that be careful.. I didn't realize you were only supposed to use it for like a little while or off and on, I used it solidly for a long time and I think it made my hair worse...woops!

I use Purpose face wash and I like it a lot. I've used that same Redken shampoo but a different line . . . I can't remember but I think it was called All Soft or something? I really liked it. But I'm trying to spend less money on beauty stuff so I've been using TreSemme lately.

I haven't tried almond oil--is that like the Moroccan oil everyone's talking about?

I love Neutrogena! I use the Neutrogena naturals face wash and it is great! I tend to get really dry skin in the winter and really like Aveeno face lotion too-its a good brand too
