Recent Goings On

This was a busy weekend for me/us. It was a lot of fun, but I also felt like it flew by. Do you ever try really hard to make time slow down? I usually think about it most when I'm laying low, but it's amazing to me how quickly time goes by. I just can't even believe it sometimes.

Friday was another Tampa blogger meetup, which are always fun. I've only met these girls twice, but it's always enjoyable to catch up. I feel like I know them so much more because of the added benefit of reading about what's going on even when we aren't hanging out. I didn't take any pics this time so I'm waiting on some of the other girls to post them.

I took a picture of my dip that I brought though!
It was called cowboy caviar, and it was yummy. I followed the recipe almost exactly except I didn't add cilantro (because I'm one of those people that thinks it tastes like soap) and I couldn't decide whether to add the Italian dressing. I bought it but was worried it would just take like Italian dressing (duh?).

And I have one small problem in that I drank two glasses of Sangria over the course of the whole night and actually felt a little yucky Saturday morning. I'm getting old; the time has come. I even skipped BodyPump! :-0

Oh. And also on Friday night I found out I wont Neely's $35 Starbucks gift card giveaway! How exciting for me?!

I did, however, make it for BodyCombat because I had requested a song to do and am glad I did or I probably would have slept through that as well. Here's a video of that song, because I'm in love with it, and it'll give you an idea of what BodyCombat is if you don't know.
Then we went tux shopping for the wedding! We picked what they guys are going to wear. It's amazing how not exciting picking out a tux is and how those people make such a big deal about it.

The woman was set on the fact that Tim would have to wear a white tie and vest or people wouldn't know he was the groom. Tim did not want to wear a white tie, so we decided he'd go with black. While I wanted to say something to the lady, I refrained. In my head, though, I was thinking "if there's anyone at the wedding that's confused about who the groom is, maybe they shouldn't be at the wedding." She suggested that was the only way people would be able to find him at the reception?? Okay...

Saturday night we went to go see Hunger Games!
It was good, and it definitely went right along with the book, but I have to say that there were details that obviously had to be left out that I missed. And my imagination had created an even more colorful and outrageous capital. Otherwise I enjoyed it. I really can't wait for Catching Fire. That was my favorite book.

Sunday I went shopping! I had gotten a $10 credit for tweeting through my credit card if I spent $50 at H&M. And I spent $64! Thank you free $10.

H&M had some cute stuff. Of course I can only find one thing on the website that I bought, but I got two dresses, two tank tops, a shirt, and a set of stud earrings.
I got this dress. It's a cute cotton beachy dress and was only $18.
I wish I'd seen this dress, though, since I'm looking online.

I also went to Forever 21, but I was a little disappointed in what they had and in what I tried on.

My big splurge of the day, though, was on a hair treatment set from Aveda.
It's called Invati, and it's proven to help with thinning hair. My hair has been breaking and thinning in the last year because of medicines I've been taking, and I'm willing to try anything and everything. It was put through a 12 week clinical trial and shows to increase hair growth by 33%. That's good to hear, and I can't wait to see results. I'll give you my thoughts as I go with it. It was a little over $100 for the whole set, but the reviews say it's a miracle worker. And this isn't the first time I've mentioned having thin hair. I just wanted to share in case anyone else is looking for something.

I'm also taking hair vitamins and biotin.

Jenn also mentioned Wen shampoo as something to think about, but I couldn't find the clinical results that I found on the invati program. I might try Wen if this doesn't work out.

Anyone tried either Wen or invati?

Lastly I spent the afternoon at Leah's gender reveal party. She did an amazing job with decorations, and she let out balloons from a box to reveal the gender. I won't reveal here in case you've been following along and are waiting on the gender. She posted it on her blog yesterday.

And that was my weekend!

What'd you do? Anything exciting coming up this week?

Also, I would love it if you would like my facebook page if you haven't already!

The tux lady is cracking me up. I think people will know him without white. Lol.

Friday was so fun - thanks so much for coming over. Keep me posted on the hair stuff, I might try it too. I'm not sure that my hair is thinning so much as it's always just been thin! ha ha - but I'm open to ideas.

I agree with every single thing you said about Hunger Games. I need to read the book again so I can enjoy all the little details!
PS Catching Fire is my favorite, too.

What a jam packed weekend. That's hilarious the woman kept pushing the white tie...you make an excellent point that they shouldn't come if they're unsure who the groom is. haha

I used to use Wen. Its good stuff, it really is. The only downfall is the process. Its like 20 pumps in the shower per bottle and it has to sit on your head for 5 minutes or something, rinse then do 20 pumps the next bottle. Its a really really long process but again, its good stuff and makes your hair great.

I can't use Aveda products. Their smell gives me horrible headaches and migraines. I can barely stand walking past an Aveda salon. I have to hold my breath. haha, its crazy, but you'll have to let us know how it works for you

That's a lot of goings-on!
Catching Fire was my favorite too :)
I think the groom can wear whatever he wants. We did a white vest and tie, but I'd go with all gray tuxes if
I could go back and do it again.

It sounds like you had a great weekend. I agree with what you said about the groom... He should wear what he wants and if people can't figure out which one he is at the reception, maybe they shouldn't attend :) your dip looks delicious and I love those dresses (maybe you can get that second one, too)! My sister uses Wen and swears by it!

What a fun, busy weekend. I wish I could hang out with you Tampa girls! That's hilarious about the lady with the tuxes, I would've told her to keep her opinion to herself ;) I LOVE H&M, and have been disappointed with F21 lately too :-/ Also, I went and got my hair done last week, and also got a line for hair thinning/shedding. I've been meaning to tell you since we have the same problem, I'll take a look when I get home and tell you the name, I can't remember. One more thing, I may have asked this before, did you and Leah know one another before blogging, or did y'all meet through your blogs? Have a great week my friend! :)

My goodness, cowboy caviar is so delicious. I want some right now with those Fritos scoop chips!

I'm curious about what you think of the Aveda hair treatment!

So just now catching up here, but I did ask my mom for hair suggestions and she recommended biotin, and since you bought, hopefully it helps :)
