Fitness Fashion + a question!


I think I realized that I've turned into a workout-aholic when it was more important to me to find cute workout clothes than it was to find cute clothes to wear during the day or out at night. I don't always spend a ton of money on workout clothes, and find great deals at Target and other inexpensive places, but that doesn't stop me from loving some lululemon every once in a while. I have had to stop reading their emails so that I stop meandering over to the site and clicking through their amazing weekly offerings.

That being said, I wear it all the time, and I do care a little about how I look when I go to the gym. I always feel better when I still look put together, and I also feel more confident in my workout when I'm confident in what I'm wearing to the gym. When I leave, that's another story. I definitely subscribe to this motto:
And don't you worry, I will not be sharing what I look like when I leave. If I'm not a sweaty mess I don't feel like I've done anything, and I'm fairly certain none of you want to see that (although I think you've seen those pics a few time in some of my race recap posts).

It's been a little while since I've written about working out, but don't you worry. I'm still there all the time getting my sweat on, and I've recently added swimming to my workouts. I was lucky enough to discover that my neighborhood pool that I've not had a working key fob for in several years is actually 25 yards and 6 lanes. 
My favorite ways to sweat?
Of course running still tops the list. BodyPump has moved up to a close second, with BodyCombat, spin, and swimming not far behind in third. It might honestly be like the tie for second place that is currently being disputed for the second Olympic spot in the 100 meter between Felix and Tarmoh. Coin toss for an Olympic spot anyone?!

So a few questions for you...
Do you care about how you look when you go to workout?
What is your favorite way to sweat?
Most importantly, do you want to hear more specifics about working out, like class reviews, daily workouts, weekly recaps, etc?

I get so mortified when I look back 4-5 years ago and remember that I used to wear tshirts and sweatpants to the gym!! :-O Then I moved into a tshirt and shorts phase... and now all I wear are yoga pants and tank tops :-) I just LOVE my yoga pants!

And that swimsuit? I can't get over it. SO CUTE.

I am with you on the cute workout gear! It makes me feel better for some reason - I love hitting up TJ Maxx for great deals. Keep up the workout posts! My favorite way to sweat is interval sprints on the treadmill!

I feel the same way about the gym..being put together makes me more confident about working out and I definitely don't feel like I've accomplished my workout goals until I'm dripping with sweat. :)

i love this! i definitely don't care how i look when i workout - for me, if i'm there that's a huge step already, i don't need to impress people, too! lol and i wish i could get a cute swimsuit like yours! then i'd want to swim more!!!

I don't really care what I look like if I'm on the elliptical or doing a video at home. But once I step out the door? I start to care a little more :)

I have that same lulu top but in different colors, and I wear it to Bar Method all of the time! I am trying not to spend too much there, but it's hard! :)

i dont own ANY lululemon.... i just lust after it! but you look so cute!

and YES i definitely care what i look like. mostly b/c there is always a bootcamp class going when i run that has to stare at the back of my bedonk! but i definitely like to steal some nike specials at the marshalls!!

ahh wish we lived closer to work out together!!

I don't know what's wrong with me. I can't get motivated to work out :( I'm in a stupid phase where I think I'm too out of shape to do much. And I use my asthma and injured knees as excuses. I need to stop the bs and start slow!

i feel like cute workout clothes are necessary in order to motivate me to work out... i need to feel good when im doing it, ya know? neon shorts are my fave right now.

i just joined a gym... and took a body pump class on monday and i liked it... it was hard, and i am sore. but i definitely think i want to go back... once i can walk up stairs easily again. haha.

I'm somewhere in the middle. It's an added bonus to look cute, but I'm also fine in tights and a t-shirt. Granted, I quit my gym membership recently and have been running and doing weights and stuff at home, so I don't really have anyone to impress. I admit that I feel cuter when wearing lululemon, which probably means their marketing strategies are working!
