Chevy Fit4Life Tampa Tour

Like I briefly mentioned yesterday, I had an eventful day on Sunday and am so appreciative for the opportunity. Caroline, a Tampa blogger and iRunMommy, posted on the Tampa Bloggers Facebook page about an awesome opportunity that turned into this:
I seriously lucked out on being one of the first people to respond, as the things listed above are some of my favorite ways to spend my time! And, the added advantage was that I got to meet and spend time with some really amazing people who also share my interests!

We were told at the beginning of the day to meet at Lifestyle Family Fitness in Hyde Park, so after a quick (and empty-handed) pop-in to lululemon, I made my way to the gym to wait on everyone to arrive.
There we mingled for a few minutes before being taken back to the person training area to warmup with a run and then be led through a bootcamp with a trainer at the gym. It included all kinds of exercises that really made me feel the burn. I haven't used kettle bells in all of my working out endeavors, and I really need to. They are hard!
At the end of the workout there was a competition to see who could hold a plank for the longest. The prize was to keep a Chevy Eco car for a week. Put that in front of me and not expect me to perform at my best? I don't think so! I held a plank for 3:47 and just barely inched out the second to last to drop, who was also named Meghan.

Then they gave us our swag bags, which had a lot of useful items, and also suggested that they might want us not to smell stinky as we made our way through the next stops on the tour.
Awaiting us outside were five Chevrolet 2013 Eco vehicles to drive around Tampa from place to place.
Emily, who organized the event for us, gave me and four others a key, and we went outside to see which car our keys unlocked. I got the white one in the middle! How fun! It was such a great car to drive, and it's always nice to be in a brand new car with that new car smell!

My car mates were Jules, Tori, Kat, and Beka.
We were off to Fitlife foods, and thank goodness Jules knew where we were going...because it was new to me!

When we got there the owner told us that basically the food is made fresh daily and lasts for three days. It's cooked with all fresh ingredients and then is blast chilled to lock in the moisture and the flavor. People bring in coolers to have pre-prepared meals at home for the week. It was a good idea; I just wish it was a little closer to my house.
I picked the Greek Tenderloin meatballs. They were really delicious, but they hadn't been microwaved long enough, so they were a little bit cool on the inside. It came with tomatoes, quinoa, and asparagus. I also got a fruit plate to share (although people didn't take much so I got most of it myself).
From there we were off to Painting with a Twist! The concept is that the whole class paints the same picture following step by step instructions. I was so nervous to start, because I'm such a perfectionist; the teachers are really good about giving specific instructions but also letting you take creative liberty where you please (which for me wasn't very frequent). I loved, though, how everyone's turned out so incredibly different, and mine is already hanging in a bathroom, as it fits the ladylike look to me. I had such a great time and will absolutely be back for a different painting again in a few months.
At the end of the day we had to get a group picture (of all the bloggers and iRunMommies) in our Chevy Fit 4 Life tour shirts by the cars that took us around all day.
Thank you so much Caroline, Emily, and Chevy for this mentally and physically uplifting day. Chevy not only provided cars for us to drive, but they also treated us to all of these wonderful activities. It was a long day, and a handful of us skipped out on yoga because of the heat and exhaustion, but it was so wonderful to do so many enjoyable things with people that share similar interests.

I can't wait for the next Tampa blogger meetup that I can attend!

Great recap! I LOL'd about your goody bag comment...I definitely used the stuff in that bag but I was still sweating at lunch after that workout. Glad they included deodorant! It was great to meet you.
