spendy {part two}

Confession: I don't remember if there was ever a part one really, but I do remember at least thinking that there was, so I'm naming this part two. Anyone not okay with that?

Let's for a second add up all of the things I've {we've} spend {lots of} money on in the last month and a half. Wedding, Honeymoon, Surgery, New Tires...I can assure you that if you're looking for an online bank account to hack mine wouldn't be worth wasting your effort on. And after all of this constant spending, you would think that I'd be spent out. I can assure you that assumption would be wrong.

I am far from spent out! Every time I turn around, click, check my email, read blogs, or play pinterest I find something new that I must have. I told you that I ordered twine from The Twinery and Washi Tape from Wishy Washi Tape. That was unnecessary money spent, but since the tape arrived, I have had some fun with it. I decorated my phone case then held my work computer hostage.
You're not going to find my project in any art museum, but it has spiced up this not so exciting school computer in a fun way.

That being said, it's only made me want more! Do I need more? No. Do I have a reason to buy more? No. So why is it that I've got this spending bug, and how do I get rid of it?!

In an effort to curb spending and check my ability to control myself, I put myself on a complete spending freeze this week to anything besides Starbucks, food, and gas. Here are a few of the things that I've been attempting to buy {luckily unsuccessfully} in the last week.
A gold tassel for my LV bag (I first saw it on Kristin's blog and decided I wanted one too...)
One of these May Books people have been giving away.

And there are absolutely other items. J.Crew sweaters, Stella & Dot jewelry. This is just the beginning. It's gotten to the point where I have seen See Jane Work having 25% off and Ulta having 20% off, and before even finding stuff that I wanted I decided that I was going to have to buy something because of the discount!

This is so bad! It isn't that these items cost a lot of money and will break me, but it's that I don't even really need them and just want them. I'm definitely free and clear until Friday. I'm not buying anything. My budget this month has been busted. But once the new month comes, somebody stop me! I'm wondering if I should put myself on a full month spending freeze. This week has been so hard for me. I just don't know if I could do it for an entire month, but it really might be good for me. We'll see. I'll let you know what I decide.

What are you wanting right now? How do you resist shopping online? Do you have these same desires constantly or is it just a personal problem?

I LOVE those Modcloth earrings. I resist shopping online by not looking :) I used to do it ALL. THE. TIME. but I just can't afford it ;)

Those wedges are adorable! I can be really bad with my spending if I'm not careful, so I just try to be mindful of what I'm buying. I've found that it helps me a lot to actually write down each purchase in a little notebook-- for some reason it sticks in my brain better that way. I also unsubscribed from a lot of mailing lists because if I see there's a sale, free shipping, etc. I feel like I have to buy something for that reason. Good luck with whatever you decide to do next month!

I am totally someone who justifies buying things because I have a coupon and it makes the price unbeatable. Which is terrible because of all the bills we have plus trying to save for the wedding. I've gotten a lot better about it but still. I saw that 20% coupon at Ulta and thought... Maybe I should just go look around, I'm sure there is something I need! I'm ridiculous. haha.

I hear you loud and clear!!! I am the worst with spending money on things I don't need! I tried the spending freeze once and only lasted three days!!! I have no will power!!! Good luck with yours!!! ;) You can do it...I hope!!

I've been there so many times. I was really good at penny pinching when things were beyond tight at the beginning of the year, but now that checks are flowing in, money is flowing right out. haha

I'm DYING for a Canon 5D MarkIII that I've been saving for and that I'll keep saving for for probably the rest of the year. haha but if I could stop getting all those little things I keep buying (that I don't really need) than I might be able to get there a lot sooner.

I started writing down every CENT I spent and would only allow myself to do one "big" purchase a paycheck... big is hard to clarify... just some big target trip or clothes or something like the life planner. the new item sustains my shopping frenzy that i'm always in! i also justify by only shopping sales, never paying full price, and since I will try to only shop on pay days .... It gives me two full weeks to really think about if I want the item!

I have been eyeing that No More Film nail polish for a while and now, thanks to your post, it's definitely going to be my next color purchase! I love Essie!

No, you are not alone! I once tried not shopping at Target for a didn't work. I've learned that there will ALWAYS be new things that I will want. Always. That's why the fashion industry is a billion dollar industry! ;) Luckily, I'm a bargain shopper AND scared to death of credit card debt so I usually don't go too crazy! :)

Ten Questions: Who What Wear’s Katherine Power ELLE
Ten Questions: Who What Wear’s Katherine PowerJanuary 30 5:29 PMby Yale Breslin 0 Comments Katherine Power As co-founder and Creative Director of Who What Wear, Katherine Power's built a mini-empire out of her celebrity coach factory outlet online friends (and fans).  With business partner Hillary Kerr, Power's built the go-to site for breaking down celebrity wardrobes.  Thanks to LA's fashion power duo, the world knows what Kate Bosworth wore while boarding a plane out of LAX, who designed Rachel Bilson's newest nautical tee and the origins of the gold brocade trousers Kirsten Dunst wore to dinner last night. But what does Power love? We went straight coach factory to the source. ELLE: What is your favorite smell? KP: The inside of a new car. ELLE: What do you consider the epitome of happiness? KP: Lounging in bed on a Saturday afternoon watching episode-after-episode of a new crime TV show with my husband. ELLE: How do you define luxury? KP: The best of its kind, aesthetically pleasing, comfortable and convenient. ELLE: What is the last dream you remember? KP: I just dreamed about working out!  Must be because I had coach outlet online to skip Pilates last night to work late. ELLE: What's your favorite childhood coach factory outlet online memory? coach factory KP: Definitely my Saturdays when I'd spend the entire day in classes and rehearsals with my dance company. ELLE: What's the last book you read and loved? KP: I recently coach factory finished Kris Jenner's autobiography and was blown away by her hustle. Can she please manage my life? ELLE: Describe your home's aesthetic. KP: It's a lot like my wardrobe actually. It's a mix of high and low, vintage and new, and a few European accents. ELLE: What are your vices? KP: Does stress count as a vice? Just about the only unhealthy thing I do is stress out. I also like Pinot Grigio. ELLE: Describe yourself in 5 words or less. KP: Shy, determined, loyal, anxious, hard-working. ELLE: What possession will you never throw away? KP: My designer handbags. If I have a daughter, I'd like for her to enjoy them too. Tags: who what wear Ten Questions katherine power
