Fall is running season in Florida!

I wanted to share a few races in the Tampa Bay area that I'm participating in and have partnered with to share information and/or discounts with my readers. They are all very different and will interest a variety of people, runners and non-runners alike.
Florida Halloween Halfathon & 5k
What: A Half Marathon and a 5k
When: October 28th
Start Time: Halfathon at 7:05; 5k at 7:23 (not a typo)
Location: Ft. De Soto Park (it would be a great option for Bradenton, Sarasota, and St. Petersburg Runners)
Who is it meant for: Runners, walkers, people who want a Halloween race with costumes
If you're looking for a training run or want to sign up for a Halloween 5k, this one is perfect! It will be a fun run, and costumes are encouraged! I shared my costume yesterday, and I'm putting the final touches on making it work this week. I would love to meetup with anyone running it, because I know the pictures will be fabulous!

If you're not thinking of running this Halloween race, which one are you doing? Do you dress up for races?

What: A 5k mud run
When: November 10th
Start Time: Waves throughout the day; I'm doing 8:30
Location: Dade City, FL
Who is it meant for: Any female of any athletic ability. It isn't timed, you have the option to walk around obstacles, and walking and running are both allowed. It's perfect for a first mud run (like me) or people who have a lot of mud run experience.

I'm excited for this because it looks like a good beginner mud run. I've never had any desire to do one of these because I'm very clumsy; I saw myself slipping and breaking something. With this one and the lack of a clock, I know I'll be able to run it for fun. I know a bunch of other girls doing the 8:30 wave, and I'd love to see you there! I'm going to be hosting a giveaway on my blog for a free entry, but for now you can get $10 off if you use the discount code littlegirlinthebigworld.
There is also a Pretty Muddy Miami the following weekend!

What: a half marathon and 5k
When: November 18th
Start Time: 7:00 AM for half and 7:15 for 5k
Location: St. Petersburg, FL
Who is it meant for: Women! You can run, walk, or do both for either race.
Discount code: LGITBWBLOG

I am so excited about this race! The course is similar to the Rock N Roll St. Pete where I ran my sub 2:00 half in February, and the weather has been cooler this year than last. I was signed up for this race last year and got hurt and had to no show the race. It was really disappointing. I've heard it's an absolutely amazing race, and I know so many people who have done it. I can't wait to finally get to do this one!

It's coming up soon, but there are so many reasons to sign up for this one if you haven't yet: flat course, personalized race bibs (if you register by 10/26), designer goody bags (you know I love swag), and an awesome medal. This is a really big race with an expo. There's something about races with expos that get me really excited. Besides the option to shop, it gets me motivated and inspired. The pickup is the day before at the Health & Fitness Expo at the Renaissance Vinoy.
You can also get a discount on this race registration by using the discount code LGITBWBLOG!

What: A Half Marathon
When: December 9th
Start Time: 7:35
Location: Madeira Beach
Who is it meant for: runners and walkers
I'll share more about this race as it gets closer, but it's part of the Florida Road Races series, and I'm excited to be a part of it. I'll be using it as a training run for the marathon, but there's nothing more motivating than running with others for a training run!

While I know I'm late on this (and you've already run one of these), I am jealous of your FL fall weather and the ability to do all of these races! Even though Raleigh is the capital of NC, a lot of cool race circuits go through Charlotte. We don't get a lot of the cool ones. I'm excited to see your Pretty Muddy recap!
