The What I Wore Wednesday where I finally used a tripod

HAPPY HALLOWEEN! I love this day, and I love that it's cool in Florida for all the kids to get to experience a fun and fully costumed evening of trick or treating.

So I mentioned that I bought a tripod. And then I kept mentioning it as it sat in the box. Eventually it got shoved into a closet when people were coming over, and as the saying goes, out of sight out of mind. But then the temperatures in Florida started getting fall-ish, and I started pulling things out of the closet I didn't think I'd see until December. Boots? Blazers with booties? It was time. The tripod had to come out!

And that it did. When I got home from work Monday and Tuesday, I found places to take pictures, and I started snapping. They turned out well, and I finally got to experience the internal fear that I've heard real style bloggers talk about, 'what if someone sees me?'. Luckily, neither time was I "caught", but I really feel like I would have chased down a car to explain what I was doing if it had happened. I'm sure it would look weird to happen upon.

So without further ado, here are two fall inspired Florida outfits. And don't mind the hair. I clearly didn't do it and threw it up with a headband both days. Getting this level of quality was a huge step up. Maybe the hair will be my November goal.

Outfit 1: tshirt & corduroys (modern straight leg) from LOFT, cardigan, boots, necklace
Outfit 2: shirt (old LOFT), corduroys (boot cut) from LOFT, blazer, booties, earrings

So now that I've stepped up to the plate, I need to come up with all those poses the style bloggers use. I tried a few when I was doing these, and I kind of felt silly. Why am I looking at the ground?!

I hope you're having a wonderful Wednesday. If you or anyone you know lives in an area affected by Hurricane Sandy, I hope you are safe and able to soon return to your normal lives.

Linkup here for Go for the Goal with your October and November goals tomorrow!

What's the piece that you were/are most excited to pull out of the closet for the fall season?

I'm linking up for What I Wore Wednesday!

I am loving both of these outfits! And wasn't it so nice in Florida today?!? I was so excited to wear a sweater! And I totally feel SO awkward doing outfit photos haha.

Love your tripod pics! I mostly take pictures of myself in front of Target and Publix, and I feel that fear. Why is this crazy person taking a photo of herself in front of Target? LOL I was taking a photo of myself in front of the UPS store yesterday and realized a friend of mine was sitting in her car right in front of the store. She rolled down the window and said, "What are you doing?" She reads my blog sometimes though, so she understood when I told her I must take pictures of every single thing I do every day. Haha. You look great!

So cute! I used a tripod once in my back patio and I was so nervous a neighbor would see me, but thankfully no one did.

Love the blazer outfit!

First of all, kudos for taking these outside! I would never have the guts for that. Love BOTH outfits, especially the cardigan that you find SO many ways to wear it! You should do a post about that :)

You look adorable and so put together in both outfits. I can imagine it's nerve-wracking to take the pics outside where you could get "caught," LOL. Happy Halloween!

LOVE the poses! I feel like I always look the same way in in pictures, but I really don't know what else to "do" and feel SUPER silly trying something different. Your poses look good though. I had Chris take some pictures for me at the beach last weekend and I tried a couple "poses" and they really didn't look good at all. The only one that is semi-decent (meaning I didn't look like a complete fool) is one that Chris says looks like a high school senior photo. I clearly have some work to do...

You rocked it with the camera! It take a few times and then you will be a natural. I still a little silly taking pictures now too, but I have gotten much more used it and have found poses that work best for me! Love both the looks! Keep it up!
