This week was tough. It was tough, though, in a good way. I've been the kind of sore where I can still move around without a problem and sit and stand without complaining about it, but it's the kind of sore where I always just feel a little tight or a little burn when I move or go up the stairs. I think that's the best kind. It seems to me like my body keeps reminding me that it's been working hard, but that I've been smart about it.
Here are my workouts! Join me and Kat and linkup yours below for accountability!
Monday: I did a 3 mile goal race pace run after a mile warmup followed by a mile cool down. It felt great, but it was definitely hard, especially the day after Rock 'N' Roll St. Pete. I ran another mile after that with a group at FITniche.
Tuesday: I got back in the pool! I did this workout from Mary.

I just changed the 25's to being on the 30 second interval instead of the 40. Otherwise I did everything else the same. It felt awesome to get back in the pool with a real workout. I'm going to be grabbing plenty more swim workouts from her blog and Pinterest pages. They make swimming more fun! That ended up being 2200 yards.
Wednesday: It was thundering and pouring down rain, and I headed to the treadmill for a 6 mile run that hit around 9:00/mile. I made sure to put the incline up so that it was simulating real world experience, and in fact for the first half of the run I increased every 5 minutes by 1% incline until I got to 4%. Running at 6.5 speed at 4% incline is a sweatfest! For the rest of the run I varied the speed to keep from getting bored.
I moved my rest day to Thursday because of Valentine's Day.
Friday: It was just a great run. I couldn't stop myself. I ran 5 miles at 8:58/mile. I kept looking down to faster paces and tried to pull back, but it just wasn't happening. It was cool out without a heavy wind, and I was just going with what felt good.

Saturday: I tweeted on Friday to a few friends to see if they wanted to run Clearwater bridges. Because I know that Irongirl is going to be run on a bunch of those bridges, I wanted to make sure that I've logged some miles on them and won't be surprised come race day. I met up with Tori and we got in 10 miles and ran the Sand Key Bridge twice and the Clearwater Memorial Causeway Bridge twice. My legs were definitely tired by the end, but because I was running with a friend I was able to push through and make it to the end.

Sunday: Today I decided I'm going to do Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred twice. I'll probably do level 2 and level 3 for some variety. I haven't done it yet, but I went ahead and logged it for accountability's sake. It'll get done. And I'll wear my HRM for proof. You can follow up on Instagram. I'll be sure to post.
How were your workouts this week? What was your best one? Did you skip any?

Great job this week! I knew you'd love having a plan! That Jillian michaels DVD is killer!
Hey! I'm running the Iron Girl too! Thanks for the tip on the hills. Maybe I can meet you there! :)
Great job on your workouts this week! I love those runs where you actually have to hold yourself back, you're feeling so good. Doesn't happen that often, so it's a treat when it does!
great week of workouts! You got some awesome mileage in this week!
AWESOME week! I'm definitely down to do the bridges next time - just need a wee bit more notice ;)
28 miles and one rest day?! Nice work! Good for you for going out to tackle those bridges! I sort of skipped a workout. I was planning to go to the gym Thursday night but I had to get stuff done for the dance team. It is bittersweet that the season is over but now I have more time!
Way to go on the workouts. I was doing the Jillian Michaels videos and love them. I plan to restart them again this week for added strength.
