Weekly Workout Roundup

This week was a step back week for me, and it was much enjoyed and appreciated. That 13 on Wednesday was on the stationary bike, so my mileage for the week is 24.2 running.

There's not much to say about the easy runs this week. The Monday and Thursday 5 and 4 milers happened, and there was nothing special about them. Monday was on the treadmill, and Thursday was outside somewhere.

Me and cross training continue our hate-hate relationship, and I pulled the stationary bike out of the garage and we hung out for 45 minutes. I watched tv while I did it. I'm thinking about joining the YMCA to get back into BodyPump. I miss it so so much and know that my body (and body fat % in particular) misses it too.

Saturday's 2 mile shakeout felt great.
I love this shirt. I'm not reusing old pictures; I just wore it again today to race in.

Then I ran my half marathon today that I've been training so hard for. Spoiler alert: I did PR, but not in the timeframe I was hoping for. I ran it in 1:55:52, though I'm still waiting for the official time. It was hard, and I struggled mentally when it got tough. I think experience is going to be on my side, and though it hurt, I won't give up until I do it. I'll have more of my thoughts up later in the week.

It was a great day/weekend for racing! All of my girlfriends at the race had big PRs (and a special and huge congrats to Tori for her sub2 success), and all of my girlfriends that ran Sarasota did fantastic as well (Genna demolished her old PR by over 10 minutes!). And in general, the PRs being shared across the blog world were amazing! I was glad to be a part of this racing weekend.

I did win a $25 gift card to the local running store in a dance competition afterwards at the awards ceremony (where we were waiting because Meghan placed in her age group). To be fair, I was the only one who stood up and danced until a mom and her two daughters started swaying. Either way...money to a running store is absolutely something I will embarrass myself for slightly to earn.

Now I'm ordering my new shoes online and can't wait to start breaking them in.
How were your workouts this week?

Linkup with me and Kat as we continue on our #SBBC Challenge!

A PR is a PR no matter how big or small! I've noticed that the speed work, more than anything, has helped me mentally. It taught me to push. Something I am not all that familiar with. We have a few more weeks till irongirl, yay for another PR I am sure :)

I know you can't help but be a little disappointed that you didn't hit your goal, but you still did awesome! Your training is crazy, and I really enjoy reading about it. Have a great week!

Congrats on the PR! I loved the Body Pump class so much that I bought the DVDs when I started working out at home. Still love it :)

Congrats on a PR! This weekend seemed like a very great one for racing!
And I would definitely embarrass myself for a gift card... probably even if it was only $5, too!
