What I've been...{summer}

Though I don't talk about it as much as I used to, I still do quite a bit of stuff aside from working out. Today I thought I'd catch you up on what's been going on in my life aside from a lot of swimming, biking, and running in preparation for my first triathlon in 11 days.

What I've been...watching:
Reality TV! I'm addicted, and after 14 seasons of not thinking much of it or turning it on, Big Brother now has me hooked as well. I haven't figured out who I like on BB, but I know who I don't like. I want Brooks to come around and win Bachelorette, and I like Amy and Fik-Shun the most on So You Think You Can Dance. I rewound and watched their "hotel" dance from two weeks ago three times that night and voted for the first time in a long time. I watch real tv and the news, too, so don't judge me too hard right now. Watch any of these? Who are your favorites?

What I've been...reading:
I finished Gone Girl and reviewed it, but I needed to catch up on life for a week before starting something else (I ignored all other parts of life for the 2.25 days it took me to read that). I'm on the library waiting list for both of her other novels as well as a few others that seem to have long waits. I'm thinking of going ahead and buying Ladies' Night by Mary Kay Andrews. Read it?

What I've been...playing:
Candy Crush. Do you play? I've been hooked. The nice part about the game is that you can't play endlessly because you run out of lives. I'll play for 15 minutes here or there every other day, but when I get stuck on certain levels I'll get frustrated and leave it for a while. I've never been a phone game player...ever. But I really like this one!

What I've been...doing:
Aside from working out and all the stuff listed above, I've been tutoring, going to lunches with friends, doing a lot of cleaning and chores around the house that needed to be done, and spending a fair amount of time outside. It's hotttt, but on a bike or by the pool it doesn't seem like as much of an oven.

What I've been...eating:
I've been cooking more! That's exciting both to me and Tim, because we're eating somewhat healthier and spending a little less than eating out. I've made huevos rancheros, spinach lasagna rolls, and Tuscan white beans with spinach and shrimp. And I've been enjoying more than my fair share of Starbucks coffee and turkey bacon egg white breakfast sandwiches. I don't know how I hadn't tried them before this summer.

What I've been...shopping for:
In reality, I haven't been doing much shopping at all. I'm still on a grand savings kick, and I'm loving seeing my reformed ways monthly on my Mint.com graphs. But, I'm going to have to do a little shopping in the next few weeks before school starts back so I can get ready for the new year with a fresh start. Even teachers need first day of school outfits! My three favorites right now for perusing are the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale, LOFT, and JCrew Factory. I'm waiting for the next big % off sales from JCrew Factory and LOFT before biting the bullet. From left to right the below are Nordstrom, LOFT, JCrew Factory.

And I can't really think of anything else I'm missing out on sharing. I was going to include what I've been pinning, but you can just see my Pinterest boards for that. And I've been so excited to share more on my blog's Facebook page. Now that I can share all the time, I'm trying to learn the balance of how much is too much. Is two times per day a good number, or should it be less?

So, what have you been up to lately? Pick a category or two and share in the comments!

If I had any patience at all I may consider teaching cause I am envious of your awesome summer! I don't watch enough tv. I miss SYTYCD though. I should catch up on it.

I have managed to avoid Candy Crush!! SOOO many people are addicted to it... it's like the new farmville haha! I just started watching Game of Thrones and Mike and I sat down and watched both seasons 1 and 2 and can' wait for 3 to come out on dvd! (no HBO in our house). Haven't watched any of the SYTYCD season, but I've watched almost all thepast ones... never watched BB or Bachelor/ette.

I haven't gotten into SYTYCD as much this year as before for some reason. I still have last week's episode on my DVR to watch... And yes-- I'm so addicted to candy crush!

I refuse to get on the candy crush train! It'll take over my life ;-) My husband and I are starting Newsroom which is fantastic. (Oddly) Dexter started its final season so we have a new summer season to watch!!!

I love Angry Birds, but refuse to get involved with another game! The spinach lasagne rolls sounds super tasty! I definitely want to try those!

My kids talked me in to downloading Candy Crush for our itoys. Ugh. I play it at night for like 15 minutes and I've been stuck on this lower level for a month. LOL.

I loved Gone Girl, thought it was great.

I'm grossly addicted to Candy Crush. I am really frustrated now though because I've been stuck on a level for sometime.

LOVE the top you showed from JCrew Factory. Very cute.

I loved Gone Girl as well! I've started watching Friday Night Lights on Netflix and I'm utterly addicted! I've managed to fly through 4 seasons so far in an embarrassingly short amount of time! Good luck on your tri coming up!!

I don't watch any reality shows. I just cna't get into them. I am a police drama junkie, though.

That Skinnytaste Shrimp, bean spinach dish was delicious! I added a little extra salt and red pepper flakes for some added heat. What did you think of it?

Your outfits are so lovely. I more need business casual clothes for blogging engagements and the mom squad appearances. My wardrobe is mostly work-out clothes, tees, tanks, shorts and sundresses.

I'm such a HUGE fan of SYTYCD. The hotel routine was pretty dope. I have last week and this week's episodes on my DVR ready to watch. I need to catch up when my husband gets back home. He's a dance nerd too!

I really want to read Gone Girl, but have a whole stack of book next to my bed I have to finish before I am allowed to buy new one.
I also have never watched a single Bachelor or Bachelorette episode, but somehow got sucked into this whole season. I think I am team Chris, but all three guys seems great.

LOVED Gone Girl! Haven't found my summer time junky TV to watch yet, guess it's time to fall back on the Bachelorette!

I am right there with you on the no shopping but mainly because a.) I don't want to invest in clothes since I am pregnant, and b.) We're buying a house. It's AMAZING how much I can actually save. I seriously took $1500 out of one paycheck and put it in savings. I was like, OMG. I should have been doing this more often.

I am LOVING The Bachelorette and SYTYCD this season. I think Des has made it pretty obvious that she likes Brooks the most, but I am a major fan of Drew because he looks like a Ken doll :) Amy is definitely my favorite on SYTYCD. She is AMAZING!

I haven't played Candy Crush, I was obsessed with Fruit Ninja for awhile but then I got rid of it.

I'm glad you are having a great summer!!
